The Florida Abuse Hotline accepts reports 24 hours a day. Anyone who suspects that a child or vulnerable adult is abused or neglected needs to make a report.
24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year, the National Domestic Violence Hotline provides essential tools and support to help survivors of domestic violence so they can live their lives free of abuse.
The Investigative Support Unit investigates homeland security and other issues, to include: terrorist activities, gangs and criminal club activities, threats against law enforcement, organized criminal activity and officer safety issues
When people call, text, or chat 988, they will be connected to trained counselors that are part of the existing Lifeline network. These trained counselors will listen, understand how their problems are affecting them, provide support, and connect them to resources if necessary.
Helping Survivors of Domestic & Sexual Abuse is part of a growing movement of concerned citizens, survivors, and professionals working to ensure the right of every person to build a life free from the devastating consequences of sexual assault and abuse. https://helpingsurvivors.org/about-us/
Financial abuse is a lesser known, but critical component that abusers use to exert control over their victims. It can range from denying a spouse access to money to using scams or disingenuous motives to steal money from a senior. Financial abuse is very serious, but there are ways for victims to escape and recover from these situations. https://www.annuity.org/financial-literacy/financial-abuse/
Rideshare apps are a convenient way to get around town, especially when traveling at night, leaving a bar after drinking, or just trying to avoid parking hassles. However, using a rideshare app means getting into a stranger’s car, which is never completely risk-free. In more serious cases, rideshare passengers have been physically attacked, sexually harassed, or assaulted.
